Who We Are

• FAR is a team of professionals who live and work in the Amazon, experiencing a vast spectrum of regional realities by being related with most of the local activities.
• We are in a unique situation because we are Peruvians that live and work in Madre De Dios. Due to our diverse experience and local knowledge we understand the complex reality of the situation and we are able to find real solutions, acting both in the city and in the forest.

Successes and Local Experience

• Through our individual paths, we have had success in the Amazonian conservation by creating areas of tropical rainforest reserves (2300 has); rescuing and protecting endangered species populations (Harpy Eagles and Side Neck Water Turtles); being pioneers of the first environmental interpretation centre in the region (The Butterfly House); promoting sustainable development activities inside local communities; creating eco-business; doing the first water-bodies monitoring research; environmental education in Native Communities and field Schools.
